The Ridgefield Theater Barn will hold open auditions for it’s summer production of The Memory of Water by Shelagh Stephenson, directed by Sherry Asch on Sunday, March 14 at 3pm and Tuesday, March 16 at 7pm. Performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm June 4 through June 26; Sunday matinees, June 13 and June 20 at 5 pm. Additional performances may be added. Rehearsals evenings and some weekends beginning in April through opening night.

In Shelagh Stephenson's funny and poignant play, three sisters return home to Yorkshire, England after the death of their mother. They struggle with who remembers which events, only to find that individual memories of their experiences have become fuzzy, and that family stories, many times re-told, become fair game for a alternate reality that transcends the memory. Yet the age old tradition of recollecting family stories, bound by love, laughter, anger and tears is still the center of this bittersweet, life affirming comedy. Winner of the 2000 Olivier (British) Award for Best New Comedy.
